EARL MCCLUSKIE

Earl McCluskie received his classical music training at the University of Western Ontario in Theory and Composition, and recording training from the Sound Recording graduate program at McGill University. 

As producer for Chestnut Hall Music, he has produced and engineered CD recordings and live concerts for many ensembles, performers and composers including the Juno-nominated recordings of Timothy Corlis' setting of Margaret Atwood's Notes Towards a Poem that Can Never Be Written and Leonard Enns' Nocturne from the DaCapo Chamber Choir award-winning release ShadowLand. Other recent recordings include violinist Jeremy Bell and the Penderecki String Quartet, violinist Mark Fewer (St Lawrence String Quartet), the Wellington Winds, the Menno Singers, Greensleaves, the big band Windjammers, Sandra Mogensen, Guelph Symphony Orchestra, Michael Purves-Smith and Kevin Ramessar, and live concert recordings for numerous ensembles and performers including the KW Symphony and National Youth Orchestra Canada. Live concert sound reinforcement gigs include Buffy Sainte-Marie, Jane Bunnett, Don Thompson, Terry Clarke, and Bernie Senensky. 

Beyond the region, his projects include a co-production with CBC Radio-Canada's Espace Musique of Tempi con Variazioni with Helmut Lipsky, Suzie LeBlanc and Melosophere premiered at l'Université de Montréal and then presented in 2008 at the Quebec City 400 Anniversary celebrations and released on CD in the fall of 2009 (winning the Prix OPUS Best World Music award in 2010), and recordings for the Toronto-based Soundstreams Canada and the Art of Time Ensemble, with whom he has recently produced a re-imagining of the Beatles' Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band recording.
