The Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, specialising in baroque and classical repertoire, was formed in 1981 as a complement to the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. Under the direction of its founder, Ivars Taurins, the choir has been praised for its clarity, nuance, and brilliance. The choir performs as part of Tafelmusik's Toronto season, and has enjoyed collaborations with Opera Atelier, the Montreal Symphony, Soundstreams, and others, and was thrilled to collaborate with Art of Time Ensemble and David Earle in Best of Dance and Music. Its popular recording, Gloria, with music by Vivaldi, Bach and Mondonville, was rereleased in October of 2018 on the Tafelmusik Media label.
