ANDREW BALLANTYNE

Saxophonist, woodwind doubler, composer, arranger, and jazz educator Andy Ballantyne is a graduate of the Humber College music program. He also received a degree in jazz performance from the University of Toronto.

In addition to being a regular member of the Juno award-winning Rex Hotel Orchestra, Andy has performed with some of the world's foremost jazz musicians and entertainers. He has appeared in concerts with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Art of Time Ensemble.

Recent theatre credits include the Toronto productions of Jersey BoysBilly Elliot and Mary Poppins.

Current projects include The Sidewinders, The Giuffre Project, and the 11-piece Andy Ballantyne Large Ensemble, which recorded and released their critically acclaimed debut recording, The Sum of the Parts, in 2007.
