BRUCE CASSIDY

Bruce Cassidy studied arranging and composition at Berklee College and trumpet in Boston and in Los Angeles. He was a founding member of the Rob McConnell's Boss Brass. He toured and recorded with Lighthouse and Dr. Music before joining Blood Sweat and Tears as their musical director.

After leaving BS&T he moved to South Africa where he ran a recording studio and produced music for feature films, TV and commercials as well as albums for recording - artists.

He is one of the worlds leading performers on the Electronic Valve Instrument and uses other new electronic music production techniques. He returned to Toronto in 2003 and formed a new band for BS&T singer and songwriter David Clayton-Thomas. He presently leads Bruce Cassidy's Hotfoot Orchestra. He also is leading and recording a South African style township band called Fikile.
