Cadillac Fairview and Art of Time
Ensemble partner to support young
audiences
In an exciting new partnership, Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited (CF) joins Art of Time Ensemble as the Youth Champion Sponsor, supporting young audiences by removing financial barriers that prevent access to concerts. We believe that the enrichment music provides should be accessible to everyone, we’re grateful CF shares that belief. They’re supporting the attendance of young audiences to every performance in Art of Time Ensemble’s 17/18 Season in collaboration with Youth Employment Services (YES) and the Regent Park School of Music. Together, we’re working to bring a new generation of audiences into the theatre to experience the power and possibility of music.
The combined trends toward precarious employment and high housing prices often means that, for young people, income that could be spent on enriching arts experiences is otherwise dedicated entirely to subsistence. Research tells us that youth who have arts-rich experiences excel in academics across the board and become more engaged in their communities by voting and volunteering at higher rates than their peers. With CF’s support, YES brings a cohort of un- or under-employed young adults to Art of Time Ensemble’s performances to reap the benefits of experiencing music first-hand.
The Youth Champion Partnership reaches an even younger audience still, as CF supports the attendance of students of the Regent Park School of Music and their parents. It’s a true delight to bring budding musicians (some as young as 7 years old!) and their families to the theatre to experience first-class performances and eclectic programming in which curiosity and discovery are guiding principles. We also hope to show young music lovers that it is possible to consider music, whether on the stage or behind the scenes, as a viable career option right here at home in Toronto.
We’re thrilled to be welcoming the next generation of audiences to our upcoming holiday concert, TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT 3, December 14 – 16 at Harbourfront Centre Theatre, where they’ll see a broad range of styles and performers, including the Art of Time Big Band, the Canadian Children’s Opera Company choir, singers Jackie Richardson, Liam Titcomb, Jessica Mitchell, and Tom Wilson, plus a handful of surprises.
Thank you, CF, for helping to make this possible!
