HUGH MARSH

Violinist and composer Hugh Marsh is one of Canada's leading improvising violinist.

Marsh's first solo effort "The Bear Walks" was released in 1984. Hugh performed on numerous recordings and toured with Mary Margaret O'Hara among others. 1987 saw Marsh release his second solo effort "Shaking the Pumpkin". This led to the opportunity to perform on the soundtrack to the movie "Armageddon".

Marsh toured with Peter Murphy in 2000 and 2002, has been an ongoing member of Mercan Dede's Secret Tribe project, one quarter of "Nick Buzz" along with Martin Tielli, Jonathan Goldsmith, Rob Piltch, and recently joined clarinet visionary Don Byron's new quartet "Swiftboat". Hugh's third solo recording is entitled "Hug Mars".
