RYAN SCOTT

As a marimba and multi-percussion soloist Ryan Scott performs extensively around the world and has been featured as a concerto soloist with the Esprit Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Hyogo Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, among others.

He is a sought-after chamber musician, and teacher. He performs consistently as soloist and chamber musician with prominent new music ensembles in Toronto. A core member of Continuum Contemporary Music, he also serves as co-artistic director and is on the faculty of the Canadian National Youth Orchestra.

Ryan has performed in over 225 world premieres of solo and chamber works and has collaborated with numerous international composers. Additionally, he has performed in over 25 orchestral world premieres by Canadian composers.

Ryan studied at the University of Toronto with Russell Hartenberger and Robin Engelman. He is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Musical Arts program specializing in contemporary art music of Japan 1960-1980.
