TAKE THIS WALTZ
A program that explores the waltz throughout the last 150 years. We begin with an arrangement of Johann Strauss' Emperor Waltz and end with Maurice Ravel's La Valse. In between, we explore waltzes by composers Shostakovich, Korngold, Schnittke, and Liszt, as well as Waltz for Debby by jazz legend Bill Evans and songs by Tom Waits, Burt Bacharach, Leonard Cohen, and Steven Page.
