Ted Dykstra is an actor, writer, and director. His notable and favourite acting roles include the title role in Hamlet for Theatre Calgary; for Soulpepper Theatre: Teach in American Buffalo, Daffyd Llewelyn in A Chorus of Disapproval, and Yuri in The Kreutzer Sonata; for Stratford Festival: the title role in Entertaining Mr. Sloane, Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Ariel in The Tempest. In 2000 he turned his attention to directing and has since directed many award-winning shoes across the country, most notably for Soulpepper Theatre. He has won four Dora awards, a Gemini, a Sterlind, a Merritt, and a Chalmers.
