TIMOTHY YING

Timothy Ying has been performing for over 20 years as first violinist of the Ying Quartet.

A winner of the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Award, he has also won a Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Recording. He has been the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Chamber Music America.

Timothy holds degrees from the Juilliard School, Western Illinois University, and the Eastman School. He was a tenured faculty member at the Eastman School, where he served as chair of the chamber music department, and was for seven years a Blodgett Artist-in-Residence at Harvard University.
