Trevor Tureski actively promotes new composition for percussion, both as a performer and collaborator. Much of his work is concerned with developing the rapport between live performance and electronic media. He has performed as a soloist throughout Canada and Europe. His formal music studies took place at the University of Toronto with Russell Hartenberger of the ensenble Nexus, in Paris (France) with Gaston Sylvestre and at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague (Netherlands). In 1991 he recorded Obeying the Laws of Physics, an interactive work for MIDI percussion by composer Daniel Scheidt on the empreintes DIGITALes label.
